The Port Hope Arts Festival is the cultural heartbeat of August in the county. The festival transforms the streets into a vibrant open-air gallery and theatre. Throughout the day, you can catch twelve original “10-minute plays” staged at various outdoor locations across downtown - an immersive and interactive way to experience local theatre.

In Memorial Park, the S.O.N.G. (Sounds of the Next Generation) Sound Stage hosts live music and open mic sessions, showcasing local musical talent in a laid-back, family-friendly setting. Meanwhile, behind Town Hall, the artisan market bursts with local crafts, handmade goods, food vendors, and interactive installations. Families will love the creative zone, where chalk art, stilt walkers, and horse-drawn wagon rides add a whimsical touch to the day.
